From 1961 to 1974, 100.000 young Portuguese men went to war in the ex-colonies. At the same time, another 100.000 left Portugal to avoid that same war. About the ones who made the war a lot has been said, written and filmed. About the others nothing has been said, it is a sort of taboo of our society.
What role did the men who "escaped the war" in the creation of the country we live in now? In what way did they resist?
If there is an image of the unknown soldier, this film tries to show that other unknown man who refused to be a soldier.
